JPA Workspaces is a St Albans-based company offering consultancy, visualisation, and procurement of workspace furniture. Having worked closely with the Hertfordshire Growth Hub for several years, we are proud to see their success with the King’s Award for Enterprise.
On 29th September 2023, Robert Voss, His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire and The King’s personal representative visited JPA to present the company with their Grant of Appointment scroll and a commemorative crystal bowl in recognition of their 2023 King’s Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development.
The award recognises outstanding achievements by UK businesses. In the words of the Lord Lieutenant, one of only 15 for Sustainable Development awards to be given across 5.7million UK businesses in 2023 and the only one in Hertfordshire. The award was accepted JPA’s Managing Director Graham Pulsford on behalf of entire JPA Team - a proud moment for the company and poignantly, 4 years to the day of the passing of its founder and much-loved leader, John Pulsford.
Richard Cooksey, JPA’s COO said “This something we are incredibly proud of. Our team is front and centre to this success and we’re really enjoying celebrating together today. Our purpose is to create working environments for clients which help achieve business goals whilst also taking care of people and planet. Our approach also reduces costs, a win, win for everyone involved”.
The event was also attended by Akhtar Zaman, Deputy Lord Lieutenant and Daisy Cooper, Liberal Democrat MP for St Albans joining the festivities to celebrate local success. During the speeches, Cllr Anthony Rowlands, Mayor of St Albans said “Huge congratulations to JPA Workspaces for being awarded the highly prestigious Kings Award 2023 for Enterprise in Sustainable Development. The fact that only a small number of such awards are made annually is testimony to the rigorous standards required to win this accolade. Their single-minded commitment to sustainability and to policies which ensure that everyone in the Company is valued are remarkable. JPA set a fine example for others to emulate. It is a matter of considerable pride that St Albans has such a firm in our midst.”
Graham personally thanked local organisations who have supported JPA especially the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce represented by new CEO Julian Carter and Chairman Jeremy Bishop. Also deserving keen thanks were Steve Armitage from The Herts Growth Hub and mentors Jim Rawlings and Martin Purvis, very much part of the wider JPA Family.
“It has been a pleasure to work with 'brilliantly positive' Fiona and the team at JPA and support their growth strategy. This award is testament to the fact that sustainability is an integral part of growing JPA Workspaces business into the future and a reward for all their hard work” – Steve Armitage, Growth Account Manager, Hertfordshire Growth Hub
