Cost of living – support to help you cut emissions and operating costs

As business operational costs continue to rise, improving your businesses energy efficiency could be just one way to reduce costs, whilst at the same time working towards achieving net zero.

Hertfordshire Growth Hub works with a number of partners who offer schemes to help businesses improve energy efficiency, reduce costs and cut carbon emissions.

Low Carbon Workspaces
This scheme provides eligible businesses with grants of up to £5,000 to upgrade their equipment, with the aim of cutting carbon emissions, saving money and minimising waste. Businesses may have planned projects enabling them to meet their goals in achieving net zero, but if not, the scheme can also help businesses identify the most effective measures to meet their goals, including but not limited to:

  • Reducing energy usage and cutting bills
  • Boosting eco credentials and meeting CSR goals
  • Driving innovation
  • Increasing productivity

Eastern New Energy (ENE)
Supporting SMEs to reach net zero carbon, this scheme helps you to reduce costs by cutting carbon emissions so that you can get on with running your business.

As part of the University of East London led programme, ENE is able to offer a limited number of services free of charge including:

  1. Free audits of vehicle fleets
Identify cost savings from switching to electric vehicles (or other low-carbon vehicles).
  2. Free installation of advanced metering systems (for six months)
By installing an energy monitoring system, ENE can help large energy users to reduce energy wastage and better manage energy bills.
  3. Free energy audits and surveys for renewable energy projects
ENE’s delivery partner EIC can survey your facility and identify energy efficiency and renewable energy generation projects that can save you money. A report listing the most cost-effective projects will be presented back to you.
