Jam-packed July for Hertfordshire Growth Hub team

July has been jam-packed for the Hertfordshire Growth Hub team, supporting countywide business events and hosting workshops!

Matt Clark, Partnership and Events Manager at Hertfordshire Growth Hub, had this to say: "July has been a very busy month for team who have been supporting our Partners’ events across the county. We have met some fantastic business owners which we will help support to reach their business growth goals."

Watford

The Growth Hub supported Watford Borough Council and the Watford Business Connect at The Clarendon Works event on the 9th July.

Mark Clark, Partnership and Events Manager said:

"It was great to be there for the launch of the Watford Business Pledge, a terrific initiative that the Growth Hub looks forward to supporting."

Hertsmere

Steve Armitage, Growth Account Manager at Hertfordshire Growth Hub, attended Hertsmere Works Networking said:

“I attended a busy networking meeting at The Hertsmere, Medburn Lane, Watling Street, Borehamwood WD6 3AA, hosted by Lesley Crisp at Hertsmere Borough Council. As well as getting to know the local companies attending and seeing the facilities available for businesses at the Hertsmere, we had an interactive and enjoyable session from the Alternative Board on profiling personality types by using the DiSC profiling system. A better understanding of what makes people 'tick' leads to better engagement with clients, suppliers, and colleagues. The session completed with an opportunity to discuss business in the Hertsmere area.”

Stevenage

Hertfordshire Futures, the new name for Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), is developing a new economic strategy for the county and is seeking a wide range of voices to share their views.

The rebranded organisation was officially launched at an event on 11th July at Knebworth Barns when it set out its priorities for the year ahead and how stakeholders can get involved.

Hertfordshire Futures is a dynamic partnership between businesses and the public sector, driving sustainable economic growth across Hertfordshire. It is the leading voice for the county's economy, setting the strategic direction to accelerate jobs, business creation, innovation, and investment.

Broxbourne

Wendy Gibbs, Growth Account Manager at Hertfordshire Growth Hub, attended Waltham Cross Town Centre Forum said:

“I had the pleasure of attending the forum on Wednesday, 17th July. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet with local businesses, hear from Aušra Bitinaitė, Town Centre Manager about the fun events taking place over summer and from contractors regarding progress and next stages of the town centre improvements. It was great to see businesses coming together and given the opportunity to hear and raise questions with the contractors directly.”

Kieran Thorpe, Growth Account Manager at Hertfordshire Growth Hub, delivered a presentation at the Broxbourne Borough Council, Broxbourne Sustainability Summit said:

“It was great to hear from a diverse range of organisations and businesses about the opportunities within the local area. From the Electric Cargo bike scheme supported by Broxbourne Council, to hearing about Green and Retrofit training support from the Hertfordshire Opportunities Portal, the event covered a lot of important areas for local SME leaders. It was pleasing to be able to share with attendees how Hertfordshire Growth Hub can help any business conduct a detailed search for potentially available finance to support their Net Zero aspirations, and we’ve assisted several new clients with this in the days since the event.”

Welwyn Hatfield

On Thursday 18th July Hertfordshire Growth Hub hosted a workshop on ‘The Right Mindset for Sale and Marketing Success’ at the University of Hertfordshire’s Enterprise Hub in Hatfield.

Hertfordshire Growth Hub developed this new workshop with sales and marketing experts who provided practical insights for attendees to help reset their mindset around two key components of business growth – Sales and Marketing.

Matt Clark, Partnership and Events Manager at Hertfordshire Growth Hub, said:

“A fantastic workshop that supported a range of SME’s across multiple sectors that were looking for support with their Sales and Marketing strategies to support the growth of the business and its staff. The turnout was great and the feedback we received from businesses said they found the support that they required.”

The work doesn’t stop there, as the Hertfordshire Growth team will be continuing to attend events and workshops in August. We will be posting all the events throughout the month on our Events page so make sure to get out and attend as many as possible. If you see one of the team, say hello and ask how we can support you and your business.
