Make sure you are ready

The United Kingdom left the European Union on 31 January 2020. The transition period ends on 31 December 2020, after which the UK will have a new trading relationship with the EU. Importing and Exporting will change from the 1st of January 2021

EORI Number
If you move goods to or from the EU you will need an EORI number. Check if you already have an EORI number that it begins with GB and if not, you will need to apply for a new one.

Find out how to declare goods
You can read more about making customs declarations yourself or using an intermediary to do this in the guides on the links below.

Understand your VAT responsibilities and costs
The changes will mean that you can charge customers VAT at 0% ('zero rate') on most goods that you export to the EU. You need to pay customs duties and VAT on all imports.
